KSU MBB Gains 2023 Commitment From 4-Star Standout

Head coach Jerome Tang and K-State men’s basketball received its first commitment for the 2023 recruiting window Wednesday afternoon. Point guard Darrin Ames, who goes by the nickname Dai Dai, announced on social media his commitment to the Wildcat program.

Ames is a 6-foot, four-star recruit from Chicago, Illinois. He picked K-State over Arizona State, Illinois, LSU, Marquette, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Virginia and Wake Forest. According to Rivals, Ames is the 46th best player in the nation for the 2023 class. Making him KSU’s highest rated recruit since Wally Judge in 2009.

Per stats posted on MaxPreps, Ames averaged 19 points and five assists per game as a junior for Kenwood Academy.
