K-State football continues to flail after loss at Arizona

Despite a strong push early in the second half, Kansas State’s woes continued Friday night in a 23-17 loss to Arizona in Tucson.

After a lifeless first half that saw K-State fall behind by two touchdowns, the visitors stormed back to tie it up midway through the third quarter, but couldn’t find the winning play down the stretch, as Arizona did just enough to cling to the win.

The Wildcats now head into the off week with a 1-3 record, the worst start since 1989, Bill Snyder’s first year in Manhattan.

“We need to reset,” Klieman said. “We need to make some adjustments offensively and defensively to give our kids a chance to be successful. We have to get together as a staff. Right now, I don’t know what our identity is. I thought I knew after the first game, but that has not been sustained with our identity. That’s not an excuse; that’s the reality, that I don’t know what our identity is. We’re going to figure that out in this open week.”
