Wildcats in the NFL – Week 3

Timmy Horne, DL – Atlanta Falcons
A rookie free agent who made the active roster out of training camp, Horne was in for 13 defensive snaps and five special teams plays in Atlanta’s 27-23 victory at Seattle. The win came on the heels of the Falcons spending the week in Seattle after facing the Los Angeles Rams the week prior. Atlanta is now 1-2 this season and hosts Cleveland on Sunday.

Elijah Lee, LB – Kansas City Chiefs
Lee made one tackle on punt coverage among his 19 special teams plays in Kansas City’s 20-17 loss at Indianapolis. It was his third game with his hometown team, but Lee was released by the Chiefs on Tuesday.

Tyler Lockett, WR – Seattle Seahawks
Making his 90th-career start, Lockett totaled 76 receiving yards on nine catches – both team highs – in Seattle’s 27-23 home loss to Atlanta. The Seahawks fell to 1-2 on the year prior to a road game at Detroit on Sunday.

Cornelius Lucas, OL – Washington Commanders
Lucas, who is in his eighth season, was in for 11 offensive snap and a special teams play in Washington’s 24-8 home loss to Philadelphia. The Commanders fell to 1-2 this season as they travel to face Dallas on Sunday.

AJ Parker, DB – Detroit Lions
Parker, in his second season in the NFL, is on Detroit’s practice squad. The Lions dropped a close matchup, 28-24, at Minnesota, and they host Seattle on Sunday.

Byron Pringle, WR – Chicago Bears
In his first season in Chicago, Pringle earned his first start with the Bears and made one catch for 11 yards in Chicago’s 23-20 home win over Houston. However, Pringle suffered a calf injury on the reception and was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday. Chicago, which is now 2-1 this season, travels to face the New York Giants on Sunday.

D.J. Reed, DB – New York Jets
Reed, in his fifth NFL season and first with the Jets, earned his 27th-career start and carded five tackles – including one for a loss – and a pass breakup in New York’s 27-12 home loss to Cincinnati. The 1-2 Jets travel to face Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Dalton Risner, OL – Denver Broncos
Making his 50th-career start, Risner was in for all 74 offensive snaps in Denver’s 11-10 home victory over San Francisco. Risner has seen time on 3,027 of the Broncos’ 3,468 offensive snaps (87.3%) since he began his career in 2019. The Broncos, now 2-1 this season, travel to take on Las Vegas on Sunday.

Duke Shelley, DB – Minnesota Vikings
Shelley was elevated from the practice squad and saw time on five special teams plays in Minnesota’s 28-24 home victory over Detroit. The win improved the Vikings to 2-1 this season, prior to their Sunday tilt against New Orleans in London.

Kiondre Thomas, CB – Green Bay Packers
Thomas is on Green Bay’s practice squad. The Packers improved to 2-1 via a 14-12 win at Tampa Bay, and they host New England on Sunday.

Skylar Thompson, QB – Miami Dolphins
A seventh-round draft choice who made the active roster, Thompson was inactive for Miami’s 21-19 home victory over Buffalo. The Dolphins are now 3-0 this season, and they face the Bengals in Cincinnati on Thursday night.

Cody Whitehair, OL – Chicago Bears
Making his 98th-career start, Whitehair was in for all 63 offensive snaps in Chicago’s 23-20 walk-off home victory over Houston. He has seen time on 6,295 of Chicago’s 6,343 offensive plays (99.2%) since he entered the league in 2016. Now 2-1 on the year, Chicago travels to face the New York Giants on Sunday.

Jordan Willis, DL – San Francisco 49ers
Willis, who is in his sixth NFL season, is on injured reserve. The 49ers suffered an 11-10 loss at Denver to drop to 1-2, and they host the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.

Russ Yeast, S – Los Angeles Rams
Yeast, a seventh-round selection in this year’s draft, saw his first-career action by seeing time on 15 special teams plays in the Rams’ 20-12 win at Arizona. Los Angeles improved to 2-1 on the year prior to traveling to face San Francisco on Monday night.
