K-State slips away late in loss versus No. 13 Texas Tech

Despite a strong first half, Kansas State couldn’t keep up down the stretch in a 43-20 loss at home to No. 13 Texas Tech Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
K-State was in it through three and a half quarters, but late turnovers allowed Tech to pile it on, giving K-State its worst loss by margin of victory this season, and the worst loss versus the Red Raiders since a 66-14 defeat in 2009.
It’s the worst home loss for K-State by margin of defeat since 2020, and the worst since a 55-0 loss to Oklahoma in 2015 if you exclude the COVID season.
Saturday’s loss fully takes the Wildcats out of contention for a spot in the Big 12 championship game, something that was still a long shot even with a win on Saturday. Now the Wildcats need wins in two of their final three games to end the season bowl eligible.
