Anudike-Uzomah Named Walter Camp All-American
MANHATTAN, Kan. (Kansas State Athletics) – Kansas State junior defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah earned one of the most prestigious postseason honors on Thursday night as he was named to the 133rd edition of the Walter Camp All-America team as a second-team performer, the Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced.
A product of Kansas City, Missouri, Anudike-Uzomah is the Wildcats’ first Walter Camp All-American since Dalton Risner in 2018. It is the second-straight year Anudike-Uzomah has been named a Second Team All-American as he was honored last year by Phil Steele.
The 2022 Big 12 Defensive Player and Defensive Lineman of the Year, Anudike-Uzomah has totaled 44 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks this season to go along with two forced fumbles and a pass breakup. He ranks second in the Big 12 in sacks thanks in part to 3.0 sacks against Texas Tech to tie for fourth in a game in school history. He is one of just two players in school history (Nyle Wiren, 1994-96) to record three career games with 3.0 or more sacks.
A finalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy and semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award, Anudike-Uzomah registered at least a half TFL in nine of K-State’s 13 games this year and at least a half sack in seven contests. He has 20.5 sacks in his career to tie for sixth in school history. Additionally, he has eight career forced fumbles to tie for fourth in K-State history and is just one shy of tying the school record.
Ninth-ranked Kansas State, which captured its first conference championship since 2012 with a 31-28 overtime victory last Saturday over No. 3 TCU, will compete in the 89th annual Allstate Sugar Bowl against No. 5 Alabama on Saturday, December 31, inside Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The game, which kicks off at 11 a.m., will be shown on ESPN.
