Klieman to retire; Klein to be hired as KSU FB head coach

Chris Klieman is set to retire as the K-State football coach as early as today, and his replacement is already lined up: Collin Klein.
The Manhattan Mercury has learned that the coaching transition is to be announced this week. No press conference had been announced as of early Wednesday, but the transition is expected to take effect this week.
Klieman, 58, just completed his seventh season at K-State, compiling a 54-37 record, winning the Big 12 Championship in 2022. The Wildcats will play in an as-yet-undetermined bowl game this year, having gone 6-6 in the regular season.
