K-State men stay unbeaten behind 99-point burst vs. Cal

Behind a 55-point first half, Kansas State men’s basketball continued its scorching offensive start with a 99-96 win over California on Thursday night at Bramlage Coliseum.

After two strong outings against mid-major opponents, K-State (3-0) faced its biggest early-season test against a Power Conference foe. The Wildcats didn’t blink.

K-State shot a staggering 64.4% from the field (38-for-59) — the highest in the Jerome Tang era — and 50% from beyond the arc (9-for-18), continuing an offensive stretch that has now produced 96.7 points per game through three regular-season contests.

The 195 combined points were the most ever scored in Bramlage Coliseum, surpassing the 194-point total from K-State’s 106–88 win over Marshall in 1995.

Three Wildcats scored at least 20 points — P.J. Haggerty (23), Khamari McGriff (21) and Nate Johnson (20) — marking the first such performance since Dean Wade, Barry Brown and Kamau Stokes in 2017.
